The Calm before the Christmas storm

The days are getting shorter, and the air is getting crisper- but in this brief downtime before the Christmas kicks in, there are tons of really exciting wine and food events coming up to fill your slightly darker, slightly cooler days and nights.
There are two events I’m particularly excited about, Liberty Wine’s Fall into the Market event is being held this Thursday, Nov 3rd, on Granville Island- this will be the 5th annual West Coast themed event- with 65 wines paired with food from all the delicious market vendors. I always love visiting Granville Island to excite the culinary senses!
The second is the Best of B.C. Wines Uncorked on the following Saturday, Nov 5th. Hosted by the Port Moody Arts Centre, this is a great chance to try many new B.C. wine releases and even vote on your favourites for the peoples choice award.

3)	Red's to Beat the Blues
	Wednesday, November 9
Let’s face it, November is typically when the cold, dark and rainy weather sets in. We will pour some of our favourite new finds that will warm the soul. 5)	Terra Madre Day 2011

The theme of this year's Terra Madre Day is the Joy of Preserving. We will be taking a look at the big picture of preserving food: conserving the land it's grown on, supporting the people who grow our food, and learning about different cultures and their traditional ways of preserving. All three floors of W2 will be abuzz with food, beverages, and demos.
